ENG 2047 THE JAZZ AGE

The Jazz Age will examine a period in American social and intellectual history that produced some of the grandest names in literary folklore (Earnest Hemingway, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein) and a timeless catalog of great literature. The battlefields of World War I, 1920's Paris and New York, the beaches of Key West and the French Riviera, and the breadlines of the Great Depression are just a sample of the settings out of which emerged a feverish moment in American literature.
