PSY 2006 Industrial/Organizational Psychology

This course will introduce students to the study of industrial/organizational psychology, the branch of psychology that is concerned with the study of human behavior in work settings. Through lectures, case studies, and group exercises, students will learn to apply psychological principles to understand human behavior at work and how to change it to meet individual and group objectives. Topics covered in the course will include: job analysis, personnel selection, performance appraisal, assessment validity, the legal context for personnel decisions, work motivation, work attitudes, leadership, and occupational health.
