EDAD 5010 Monitoring Student Learning As a Teacher Leader
This course provides teacher leaders with a vision and an understanding of their roles in supporting their colleagues to improve student performance through appropriate structures that foster collegial exchange and ongoing assessment that informs instructional practice. Specilfic attention will be directed to principles behind authentic, performance-based assessment, skills in developing standards-based performance tasks, implications for curriculum planning and school improvement, and formal and informal techniques for collecting and analyzing student work. Simulating grade-level meetings, students will work in teams to analyze student assessment practices, to create assessment tasks, and to develop assessment guided programs.
