ENG 5075 Film Theory

This course will examine the range of contemporary theory about film through readings and viewings of selected films. The writings of earlier film theorists such as Eisenstein, Kracauer, Deren, and Bazin will provide a base for the examination of more recent theories rooted in genre studies, semiotics, Marxism, psychoanalysis, and feminism.
