CAM 3072 Social Media

This course focuses on both theory and practice surrounding social media. We explore the nature of digital society and what has changed about the ways we live and interact following the advent of social networking sites and applications. We explore the role of social media in social change and the particularities of online social interaction, covering topics from emotion and the public sphere to software and mobile technology. Additionally, students learn to run issue-focused social media campaigns focusing on skills such as gathering metrics, curating content, and creating media.
