ART 5045 CERAMICS: FORM & FUNCTION
"Ceramics: Form & Function" offers hand building and an introduction to wheel throwing, where forms are created on a potter's wheel. The ultimate goal of mastering the process is to be able to use the wheel as a tool to create the forms that you need for your concept. These concepts may begin as functional objects, such as bowls, cups, plates, and vases, but ultimately you may use them as elements in sculptures and conceptual works. Three hours of required lab time per week.
