MSBM 5031 Economics and Finance in Entertainment
Each year Americans cumulatively spend at least 140 billion hours and more than $280 billion on legal forms of entertainment. The entertainment industry, already important in the U.S. economy, continues to grow rapidly in other countries around the world. This course also explores sources of funding and revenue production unique to film, music, television, advertising, broadcasting, cable, casino and online wagering, publishing, performing arts and culture, toys and games, sports, and theme parks. In addition, it address how to analyze, control and evaluate financial performance, apply sound financial management principals and practice and prepare, analyze and use budgets and financial reports.
