Undergraduate prerequisites and graduate science or Science Education courses within this program may be used to meet the content requirements but you must have 30 credits in the relevant Science outside of the Masters..

 

Per NYSED:

 

Biology (30 credits)

Acceptable courses would typically be offered by a Biology department, and would include courses in scientific methods, cell biology, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, comparative anatomy, genetics and evolution, biological diversity, human biology, and ecology.

 

Chemistry (30 credits)

Acceptable courses would typically be offered by a Chemistry department, and would include courses in scientific methods, matter and atomic structure, energy, chemical bonds and molecular structure, chemical reactions and quantitative relationships. 

 

Physics (30 credits)

Acceptable courses would typically be offered by a Physics department and would include courses in scientific methods, mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, waves, sound, light, and quantum theory and the atom.
