BIO.3063 Environmental Geology

In this course, students will learn about natural geological processes and anthropogenic effects on those processes in the context of natural hazards, natural resources and sustainability. Topics will include geological resources (soil, water, air, mineral, and energy). Human population growth and impact on these resources, coastal erosion, rebound after natural disasters, problems associated with exploitation of geological resources such as water and air pollution. Evidence for global climate change and the impacts of long term climatic warming will also be covered.
