MGT.2002 Introduction to Nonprofit Management and Finance
Not for profits have played an increasingly important role in our economy and society. This course provides students with an understanding of the basics of the not-for-profit sector. Topics covered will include the role not for profits play in society, the sector's history, the laws that govern the sector, and not for profits in relation to government and the private sector. The course will also look at what not for profits are doing about some of today's important societal issues. Students will be asked to discuss class topics as individuals and in teams.
