RAD.3030 Advanced Procedures

This course will give a basic introduction to Special Radiographic Imaging Procedures, Computed Tomography and Quality Assurance. Special imaging studies include angiography, arthrography and myelography. Computed Tomography content is designed to provide entry-level radiography students with an introduction to, and basic understanding of, the operation of a computed tomography (CT) device, equipment, basic scanning principles and best practices to maintain patient safety during these high-dose radiologic procedures. Quality Assurance content provides a basis for analyzing radiographic images. Included are the importance of optimal imaging standards, discussion of a problem-solving technique for image evaluation, quality assurance testing, correction and prevention of electrical breakdown and the factors that can affect image quality. The secondary Career Prep portion of the course will include instruction on resume building and an exploration of the various career trajectories available to the licensed professional.
