WREL.2031 Psychologies of Mystical Experience
This course explores how encounters with God and other heightened states of awareness affect human personality, how personality affects such experiences, and how dreams, stories, prayers, meditation techniques and intuitions function in religious life and affect the brain. Readings begin with psychologists, continue with spiritual methods of many traditions, and conclude with analyses of imaginative literature and personal accounts.
