Introduction & Overview

As people engage with the world, data is being collected from users/customers in every interaction. All the companies, non-profits, and other entities collecting this data hope to use the data they're collecting to become more effective and competitive. Some of the obstacles to effective data usage include collection, storage, analysis, security, and reporting of data. As organizations expect their decisions to be informed by data, they need professionals with skills in data analytics to address these obstacles. The M.S. in Data Analytics prepares professionals to work in data analytics a broad range of industries and occupations. Skills learned include data mining, visualization, modeling, optimization, business research, and in-depth analysis. Data ethics and security are also key elements of the program. The program prepares students to enter any organization and making data immediately beneficial to strategic decision-making.
