Study Abroad Programs

Manhattanville offers the opportunity to visit the world. Our highly regarded connections with international institutions, colleges, universities, and providers make living and studying abroad an even more appealing option. Spain, Italy, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, South Africa, Japan, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand are just some of the major countries that you can add to your academic and life experience. Our very competitive programs range from specializing in the arts, humanities, and social sciences to programs in globalization, leadership, and health and community concerns. Whether your desire is to study politics, the European Union, or Asian fine arts, Study Abroad makes it happen.

The Office of International Students and Study Abroad guides students through the research, application, and approval phases for overseas study. Manhattanville offers three types of programs to successful candidates to further their education through international institutions: direct exchange, cooperative, and independent. Students interested in the programs offered should work with the Study Abroad advisor as early as possible. The University will only award transfer credit toward the student's degree for coursework approved beforehand. Student must maintain full-time status while away.

Selection Process

Once a timely completed application has been received, it will be reviewed by the Study Abroad Selection Committee. Applications will be reviewed, and decisions will be made according to following criteria: Program rationale, strength of recommendations, placements available, and fit with major/career goals. Direct and cooperative placements are subject to available funding. If you are not selected for a direct exchange or cooperative program, there is always the option of an independent program.
