DAT.5040 Decision Methods and Modeling

This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to make data-driven decisions using a variety of quantitative modeling methods. Students will learn how to use optimization, simulation, and decision analysis techniques to solve complex problems and support effective decision-making in a variety of industries. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to different modeling frameworks and will learn how to develop mathematical models that capture the key elements of a decision problem. Students will also learn how to utilize software tools to implement these models and to generate and interpret the results of the analysis. The course will emphasize real-world applications of decision modeling and will incorporate hands-on activities and case studies to help students develop practical skills in decision-making. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply decision modeling techniques to a range of business and organizational problems.
