IDS.2001 Preparation for Experiential Learning

This course is designed for students intending to embark on an experiential learning project, either as an individual internship, service-learning project, student teaching, or utilizing the fourth credit option.?Students will be introduced to practical skills applicable to the professional workspace. Topics reviewed will include the role of "work" in human history, resume and cover letter writing, effective professional correspondence, interview skills and preparation.  In addition to identifying and researching career fields and opportunities.  The course will also explore ethics and professionalism in the workplace and communities, leadership, team building, and the importance of communicating across differences and developing a broad intercultural understanding.
