MATH.3100 Mathematics for Elementary Teachers
This course is a mathematics content course for elementary school teachers and focuses on key content that teachers will need to know to be effective elementary math teachers. It will dive deeply into elementary content in order to help students deepen their own understanding of elementary mathematics and understand how elementary students think about mathematics. Through this course, students will see how the topics in K-6 math fit together and how they fit into the broader storyline of school mathematics. We will work to make connections between mathematical ideas, revisiting and reexamining mathematics students have learned before in order to more deeply understand the underlying concepts.
