PSY.2039 Cyberpsychology: An Introduction

Cyberpsychology is an introductory course developed specifically to focus on how the use of the internet and the engagement in cyberspace impacts individuals and groups. Some of the many topics covered include explaining the internet in the psychological context, online identity, online relationships, personality types in cyberspace, transference to computers, addiction to computers and the internet, psychology of online engagement, regressive behavior in cyberspace, online psychological services (computer mediated psychotherapy), confidentiality and privacy in cyberspace, and involvement in cyberspace and mental health.
