SPRT.3067 Research Topics in American Sports History
This course examines the evolution of sport in the land that would become the United States from the colonial era until the present. Sports and their place in society grew and changed over the course of the time period we will cover in this class but throughout that era, sports have shed light on social norms and customs as well as power relations. In this class, we will use sports to examine ideas about race, gender, ethnicity, and sexuality among other elements that shape social relations.
