PHL.3003 Aquinas

Aquinas is a pillar of Western thought. He was enormously influential. He belonged to the rarest of metaphysical schools: hylomorphism. This course is an in depth study of some of the primary elements of his thought. It will deal with such things as the disctinction between essence and existence, contingency and subsistence, matter and form composites, the transcendentals, the relation between thought and reality, happiness and the ethical life.
