MAE.5115 Math for Secondary Teachers II
This course is a mathematics content course for Grade 7-12 teachers and focuses on key content that teachers will need to know to be effective middle school and early high school teachers. It will dive deeply into higher-degree polynomials, statistics, and calculus topics to help students deepen their own understanding of adolescent mathematics and understand how students think about mathematics. Through this course, students will see how the topics in 7-12 math fit together and how they fit into the broader storyline of school mathematics. We will work to make connections between mathematical ideas, revisiting and re-examining mathematics that students have learned before in order to more deeply understand the underlying concepts.
