CSCH.3022 Activism and Its Social Impact

The objective of this seminar is for Castle Scholars students to learn about the introduction and basic concept of activism and its social impact. How to survive the ups and downs of social movements will be discussed. The examples of some well-known activists worldwide and their social impact will be introduced. The topic of youth activism will be explored too. In addition, the history of the social action at Manhattanville College will be presented. This will tie to the readings and writings on human rights and social justice in short research, reflection paper and presentation. Enrollment in this class is limited to Castle Scholars, and Manhattanville College students whose GPAs are 3.6 or higher.
