HIS.3102 Women and Gender in Latin America

This course uses gender as an analytical lens to explore major themes, periods, and events in Latin American history, from the colonial era to present day. Priority will be placed on how women's class, race, and ethnicity shaped collective action and transformed relationships of power in the family, workplace, community, state and in expressive forms of culture such as art, literature, and sport.
