SPRT.2030 Intercollegiate Sport Management
A conceptual and practical study of philosophies, techniques, and procedures related to the administration and management of college athletics with a focus on policy development, implementation, and, evaluation; student welfare; strategies for developing effective leadership and management principles; and a variety of legal issues, including tenets of amateurism, name/image/likeness, recruitment, athlete activism, social media use, coaching contracts, and distributive justice, equity, and diversity. A variety of speakers from both the institution and the conference will engage students in discussions about working in intercollegiate athletics, including job qualifications and responsibilities. Students will also take part in Manhattanville Athletics operations.
