BIO.5026 Biotechnology Seminar
This seminar-based course is designed to provide the student with a practical introduction into the fields of bioinformatics and contemporary biotechnology techniques. The course will present the material to students first in the form of current research articles of review articles that present the contemporary technique to student. Then, where applicable, the students will attempt to use the technology to decipher information about a gene/ sample based on web based resources. Together, the lectures, hands on approach, written assignments, and review of current literature will leave the student with a well-rounded knowledge of the field, including contemporary approaches in the field, and the ability to communicate in a scientific manner.
