DTH.3323 Performance Seminar: New York Now
This course will survey the current season of dance, theatre , and performance in New York City. Through attendance at a sampling of the current season's offerings, students will be exposed to a variety of cultural events, classical and experimental, with particular attention to global perspectives. We will examine what it means to be an intelligent audience and write a critical analysis of each performance after studying the historical contexts and perspectives of the representative companies. Classroom lectures, workshops, and meetings with artists will alternate with trips to New York City for performances. Lab fee: $200
