SPRT.3100 Marketing and Administration for Professional Tennis Managers

This course focuses on issues in the promotion and administration of tennis facilities, tournaments, and organizations. Students will consider foundational marketing and management principles with a focus on how these concepts have been and continue to be applied to issues in the tennis industry as it continues to grow and evolve. Students will become familiar with the literature of the tennis business world and the current discussions involving this sport, especially in North America with its crowded, multi-sport environment, but also in an increasingly global context given twenty-first century technologies producing new media delivery systems. Continuing organizational management and the planning, promotion, and execution of events such as tournaments are central topics of this course.
