Library and Information Studies

Library and Information Studies describes a variety of instructional programming. Manhattanville librarians teach in the First-Year Program, visit classes in the majors, and deliver credit-bearing LIS courses. We work directly with students to solve practical research problems. Students engage with a full spectrum of information resources in their areas of study.

Through these encounters, students become effective life-long learners in a constantly changing technological environment. Key skills gained include finding, obtaining, utilizing, evaluating, and attributing information ethically and effectively. Manhattanville University graduates emerge as critical consumers of information tools and sources.
