Doctoral Application Information
Doctoral Admission Requirements
Students may apply to Manhattanville University by completing the Manhattanville Application.
The Doctoral program offers three pathways: Signature (K-12), Higher Education and Dissertation Completion.
To be eligible for the doctoral program, you must have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Along with your completed application, please submit the following:
- Official transcripts
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
- Three letters of recommendation
- Letters should be written and submitted by professional or academic references.
- References will be automatically contacted by email once you enter their names and email addresses into your online application. Your references will be able to complete a form contained in the email request and/or to upload a letter.
- Writing sample
- Examples: article, position paper, previous graduate work, or essay.
- Personal statement
- Approximately three to six double-spaced pages.
- Discuss your leadership experiences, your strengths in the role of educational leader, your interest in the doctoral program, and what knowledge and skills you hope to develop in the program.
- Resume (must be current)
- Record of leadership
- Demonstrated record of leadership as an educator, leader, and/or manager/supervisor. Two years of administrative experience are strongly preferred.
- Interview
- The doctoral admissions committee will conduct an interview upon completion of the application.
