EDPD.5034 Science and Craft of Microlearning
In an era of dwindling attention spans and cognitive overload, the "Long Lecture" is becoming an increasingly inefficient tool for student mastery. This course explores the art and science of microlearning: the practice of delivering high-impact, targeted instructional bursts that respect the limits of human working memory. Participants will learn how to deconstruct complex standards into potent "micro-lessons," leverage cognitive science to increase retention, and utilize digital tools to facilitate point-of-need instruction.
