First Year Writing Program
All first-year students enroll in College Writing I and II, courses that help you develop critical thinking and writing skills necessary to meet the demands of college-level study. The sequential courses include an examination of strategies for written analysis, persuasion, and argumentation, as well as an exploration of style, structure and voice. Additionally, both courses emphasize drafting and revising. To support your success in these courses, the Writing Center and Library offer guidance on how to develop and revise your writing, as well as ethically find, evaluate, and use credible sources.
