EDU 5406 Language, Literacy and Culture (Grades 5-12)
This course will introduce candidates to a sociocultural perspective of language acquisition and development and will examine ways in which oral language ability supports learning. This class will consider the social and cultural dimensions of literacy practices among diverse students. Specifically, this course will focus on the practices of students of different abilities and students from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
