Nursing Applicant Requirements - Second Degree Candidates
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A 300–500-word essay explaining why you are pursuing a career in nursing through Manhattanville.
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, including documentation of degree conferral and all attempted credits.
- One professional or academic letter of recommendation.
- At the Dean’s discretion, additional requirements—such as the TEAS examination—may be requested.
- A grade of C+ or better is required in the following prerequisite courses. Failure of two prerequisite courses will require approval from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) Dean to apply to the Nursing program.

- Anatomy & Physiology I + Lab 4 credits
- Anatomy & Physiology II + Lab 4 credits
- Statistics 3 credits
- Microbiology + Lab 4 credits
- General Psychology 3/4 credits
- Chemistry 4 credits
- Development or Lifespan Psychology 3 credits
Credit for BA/BS degree conferral with GPA of 3.0 or higher 34/35 credits
Nursing Courses 61 credits
Total Credits 121 credits

Prerequisites for the program:
- College GPA must be a minimum of a 3.0
- All prerequisites should be completed at the time of applying
- The following courses must be taken with a C+ or better
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab (4 credits)
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab (4 credits)
- Statistics (3 credits)
- Microbiology with Lab (4 credits)
- Fundamentals of Psychology (3 credits minimum; 4 credits preferred)
- Chemistry (4 credits)
- Developmental Psychology – Covering Lifespan (3 credits)
