The second part of Literacy Methods course that provides an understanding of research-based best practices in literacy instruction. Apply strategies and materials used in a comprehensive, balanced literacy program. Examine models of thematic units that integrate literacy with content areas. Construct a unit of study that demonstrates the ability to evaluate and select strategies that integrate a variety of texts across disciplines to meet the needs of diverse learners.
