EDU.5402 Language, Literacy, and Culture
This course will introduce candidates to theories of literacy development and will examine the ways in which oral language ability supports learning in social and cultural contexts. Specifically, this course will focus on the literacy practices of diverse students of different abilities and students from varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The course will also address difficulties that may be confronted while acquiring literacy skills. Field experience required.
