EDU.5503 Literacy Research Seminar

This course provides students with an in-depth view of the process and products of research in the field of literacy. Students will become familiar with the range of methodologies employed in literacy education research and learn to critically examine studies related to reading and writing. Students will also design and carry out their own research project and share their findings in both oral and written form. This course is designed to provide future reading specialists with the skills needed to effectively evaluate literacy research, engage in teacher research, share research findings in a professional manner with colleagues and use research to inform one's practice of literacy education. Field experience required.
