The Masters program prepares Literacy teachers to work with both general education students in all grades and students with disabilities in all grades. This program leads to New York State teacher certification in Literacy Grades PreK-12 and Special Education Grades PreK-12.
Prerequisites:
- Bachelors Degree
- Evidence of Prior Certification in Early Childhood, Elementary, Childhood or Middle Childhood Education
- EDU 5393 Foundations of Special Education or equivalent course
- Methods course(s) in teaching Literacy in Childhood Education
- Prior coursework in Children's or Adolescent Literature
