Entrepreneurship and Innovation (certificate only)

Introduction & Overview

Entrepreneurship, as a set of skills, mindsets, and theoretical and practical knowledge, can be a valuable addition to any student’s undergraduate major. Through coursework and experiential learning opportunities, students will develop the curiosity and creative confidence to identify and make the most out of opportunities, collaborate to support their own growth and that of others, continually iterate using prototyping and testing to learn new things, and develop a bias toward action emphasizing persistence and optimism. Students completing this certificate program will develop the professional and “soft” skills, including problem-solving skills, communication, project management, and teamwork, needed to build and connect to potential clients and funders, resulting in enhanced job prospects and choice. Learning experiences will also support development of professional connections and networks to successful entrepreneurs and innovators in our local community. This program emphasizes the value and importance of connecting theory with practice.
