Theatre
Introduction & Overview
Students of our Theatre Major embrace the full liberal arts experience, while training with faculty and directors who bring the professional world of New York to Manhattanville University's program. Our curriculum provides basic understanding and practice of the elements of performance and explores the collaborative frontiers where Theatre and other disciplines meet. Emphasis is on creative process.
Students in the B.A. Theatre program will train in performance and technical theatre while exploring how theatre can be used as a tool for civic engagement. Students who focus on technical theatre will have opportunities to work behind the scenes on production and design roles and work alongside industry professionals to develop their skills in theatre production. Students who focus on acting will have opportunities to auditing for 6 main stage productions every year as well as participation in the development of new work with contemporary theatre artists.
